Our story
Science belongs in every home.
We started BenchTech DIY because real lab tools were locked behind institutional budgets. We changed that.
Our mission
BenchTech DIY exists to put professional-grade science within reach of anyone with a workbench and a question. Whether you're testing your well water, building a radio receiver, or teaching your kids how cells divide, you deserve tools that actually work — not toy versions.
We source, test, and bundle every kit ourselves. Nothing ships until we've run the experiments at our own bench. If it doesn't work reliably for us, it doesn't go in the box.
How it started
It started with a contaminated well and a $400 lab bill. Our founder, a former environmental technician, knew the test cost less than $5 in reagents — the rest was overhead. She built her own kit, tested it, and posted the results online. The response was immediate: hundreds of people wanted the same kit.
That was 2019. Since then we've shipped kits to home farmers, ham radio operators, homeschool co-ops, and curious retirees in all 50 states. The mission hasn't changed: real science, real results, no lab coat required.
